put your misses in the passenger seat or a female friend and take her for a hard boosting session round some country road. I`m sure she will more than be screaming then!!

These are fairly good links to explain what it actually is, as nobody has really said yet lol

id have to be proven wrong especially with one fitted to a 5...is it really gna make a whole lot of difference? ,ferrari f40 the yes..

also going to make track days a no go area with noise restrictions.

more noise does not mean more power.

Its not all about the noise, its about how well it controls the boost levels.

i agree mark:agree: i find that its not so laggy with the external wastegate. it boosts really well. also you dont have to run a efi set up and tubelur manifold for it to work well on a 5. mines been custome fitted to a standerd manifold and it works spot on.:agree:

Madfive have you ever fitted or owned a car with one. Sure one of the old audis came from factory with them.

so for a quieter operation how does it effect performance with it going back into the exhaust just before the cat? ie no screamer...

Tony Walker

5 doesnt have a cat? going back in to the exhaust after the turbo would work too, and obviously reduce noise.

how are people with screamer pipes installing there wideband sensors?? and monitoring fueling?

i know...but was wondering how and if it effects performance or just chills the noise?

"are not technically for street use."

no mate this was my first attempt and i must say it great. a few mates in the past have had them on there evos and 200sxs. just wanted to custome fit one on the 5 and it works so happy days.:)

dont see why it wouldnt be street legal on a 5, no cat so not increasing emissions, if it re-enters the exhaust system. if it is coming out of a seperate pipe i geuss there would be noise restrictions and placement restrictions? i doubt many mot testers are going to experience it opening anyway :)

You can just install the sensor in its normal place on the down pipe or elbow.. The screamer pipe wont effect the Air/ Fuel ratio or readings.. The Burn is the burn so to speak, it will have the same gas mix throughout..

You have to make an external wastegate fit, no bolt on kit out there

You don't need an external wastegate, you could get a new down pipe made which separates the penny valve and the exhaust wheel.then you would just have a screamer pipe at the wastegate side
