i'm looking for a run around and i've closed it down to 2 cars
mk3 vr6 or corrado
clio 16v
this will only be a run around over winter spring time as i'm not wanting to use the 5 as little as possible so as long as it has a ticket and is running condition
with the above cars i will hunt down a bargain but just cant make my mind up!
maybe the bargain will choose for me?
Keep your eyes peeled for me guys :agree:
My Bro has a Corrado VR6 Storm. Lovely car. Fast, great handling and plush interior. You won't get a storm for a bargain, but you would probably get a normal VR6 for not too much.. Same power, same handling, just not limited edition. Kind of like the Raider is to the normal GT Turbo.

The highline vr6 was the golfs answer to the corrado storm.
will find one cheap enough hopefully

seen a few corrados and really like them, but they all have been rotters:crap: wondering if they have rust issues across the board?

that's gonna be a job and a half, I'd get the engine out for easy access to the million nuts and bolts holding the head on.
I'd do it, but it's not anywhere near as easy as the 5 from what I remember.

the man to speak to about a clio is Nick Hill at Hill Power,
if it was me though i would look at a golf over a clio and you will have to spend a decent amount of wedge to get a corrado vr6 worth having, but how can you compare a 137bhp clio over a 190bhp corrado? no contest for me

I love the way you are using Corrado VR6 and 'run around' in conjunction here :agree: :smokin:
If it is a run around you want, the 2.8 engine in the Golf would be a better bet. The 2.9 in the Corrado can have some reliability issues. Plus, spares for the Corrado can be an absolute ******* to get hold of (particularly interior trim and bodywork/panels).

.
Should have seen the face on the guy I bought my VR6 off when I said it was going to be my run around.
Back on topic, very pleased with my Golf VR6, handling is really good. I thought it would understeer with the 6 cylinder in the front but haven't experienced any yet
Can average 35 mpg with sensible driving.
I was originally on the lookout for a Corrado VR6 but for the money I was wanting to spend they all had rust.
You won't be disappointed if you go for a VR6. :)
Splitter
There's a far better V6 out there for a lot less money

Yes, they have a splitter on the bottom of the front bumper.
I can't think of a better V6 for the same money as a VR6 let alone less?
There are Golf VR6's for sale for as little as £1500 :)
eh? v6?? vr6's arnt v6's sound bloody nice though
eh? v6?? vr6's arnt v6's sound bloody nice though
they are really, they're a 'V', they just have a single cylinder head. bores go into the block at an angle.

I think you'll find they are classed as a V6 ;) but I know what you mean with them having one cylinder head and not a 'V' block.

Beat me to it :)
