View Full Version : My new project

I hired a trailer and went to pick up this shell for my new project today, it's a white Clio 172 with a Clio Cup 6 point rollcage. Roll on the next 3 or 4 months when i transfer all the parts from my blue 172 to this. It literally has nothing in there so it's like a blank canvas for me to start all over again, it's a shame to break the blue Clio but i know this car inside and out and know all the parts on there are nearly new or tried and tested. I can build it back up just the way i want....... I can't wait

Could be a plan, drop the subframes on the blue and fit on the white, thats gotta be easier :D

Indeed, its not a big job either. Engines could swapped over in an afternoon :agree:

Get the brake lines (and balance/proportion bar, if you want one), the fuel lines in, fit the dash/wiring loom and you are halfway there.....;)
Plus, if you undo the suspension from the top mounts and don't disturb the setting, you will save a journey to Kent to get it all set up again....:D

To me the hardest part will be sorting out the loom, rearranging it, working out whats in there being used and what i need to add to it etc. I'm thinking of just dropping the rear beam and fitting it onto the white 1, that will save removing the discs and calipers. I'm wondering if i can do that with the front subframe and lift the shell over it. I've spent this weekend destickering and polishing, my finger nails are raw :D

It was their demo car which also featured in performance French car magazine. All the parts were sold leaving the shell bare with the rollcage

Ricardo

Indeed Bod.

Everything from this Clio will be going onto the white shell
http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn442/Ricardo-1974/DSC03411.jpg

The blue Clio still has the carpets, dash, loom etc where as the white shell is completely bare, big time. Like i said this gives me the chance to start all over again, putting things back in just the way i'd like it to be.

I've been working on it again today with the help of Matt from Code Red, basically a BIG thanks to Matt for his help and knowledge of all things Renault which will put this white Clio right back in the frame. Cheers Matt

The cage is awesome, the shell is pretty clean and straight. I was worried that the paintwork wouldn't be the best under the stickers but was happily proved wrong. I have a shopping list of parts to buy but these are mainly uprated parts, some cosmetic and others like 4 point harnesses to finish it off :)
