I thought i would stick these questions in one thread as they are related to each other :

I have standard wheels and tyres on my car with a 35mm ride height drop. It sits at quite a nice height off the ground. I am getting worried as i cant seem to find anymore 195/55/13H tyres and was thinking it may be time for some 15s, i was thinking Williams alloys.

I have tried a set of 15s with 45 profile tyres on and they put the car a lot higher off the floor which i wasnt really happy with. So my questions are as follows :

1. Do Williams Clio alloys come in two different widths? 6.5 and 7.0 inch?

2. Are there any scrubbing problems with 7 inch wide alloys and 45 profile tyres?

3. If i currently have a 35mm drop and i switch to these bigger wheels plus 45 profile tyres and make the car higher, would i have to go for a 60mm lowering kit with shortened shocks to get the car back down to the height that it is now?

4. Are there any disadvantages to using/having any of the above?

:)

Willy wheels only came in 7" wide iirc mate. Shouldnt catch at all with 195/45 tyres, lower it 50mm & job done:)

You could always stick with the 13's, and run 185/60 tyres.

Are there any disadvantages to running this size? Any makes that you would personally recommend? I have only ever used Uniroyals :)

Not really. They're obviously slightly narrower than a 195, but tyres from different manufacturers come up as different widths anyway, so it's not really an issue. I've got Toyo Proxy C1F's on my 5. I've only used the car once with them on, but I was pretty impressed.

Put williams wheels on the 5 yesterday with 50's with no problems. little bit of a squeek on the front but the coliovers will get wound up a little. 45's ran fine with no rubbing at all.
