Just after some opinions please..........

I've bought a spare set of wing mirror covers for my 172. I'd like to do a few track days and maybe shows in the car this year. If i go on track ill be running on the blue williams wheels. My question is this..............

Do i paint the mirrors the same blue as the wheels

or

Do i sticker bomb them up like i planned to do originally? I have all the stickers ready, they are decent graffiti style and look cool. However i'd imagine its an acquired taste.

Just after peoples ideas and any other simple ideas to make the car a little different. It needs to be something i can change easily though due to the car being a daily and wanting to make it back to a std looking 172 easily.

Come on get it done.
I did consider doing my new track 5 in this all over, but it would of cost me a fortune, and i would have to flat back the matt paint to get them to stick.

Feck scene, do things that you like yourself, regardless if it's the "scene" or not. Stickerbombing has been around for years and years.

I'm going to take them down to my friend down the road, he owns his own body shop. I'm going to ask him to put a coat of laquer on them everytime he does a clear coat for the next week. About 20 layers should do it!

There is a book called stickerbomb and stickerbomb 2 (all one word not two) search for them on Amazon etc. you can get them for about £10 each delivered. they have approx 250 stickers in.

Doing my laptop and both mirrors hasn't even used half the stickers in one book

Got them back from the body shop down the road, a little miffed as Ray left them on the side and they got some overspray on them, however got a bit of Tcut on them and they have come up just fine.

Chucked one on to see how it looked:

I like it alot, :D, think you picked a hard shape to start with though. Did you try using a heat gun at all?

J8TRO
07-03-2011, 20:26
Na no heat gun, they have plenty of crinkles etc, but iI'm not too fussed. Look OK for what i want them for. My mate at the body shop advised applying them wet with plenty of washing up liquid. if i have another go ill try this method.

i think you have done a great job with them mate.:agree: you think trying to do that with a m3 style mirror. that could get very tricky.
