just wondering if everybody's r5 door are so flexible, certainly towards the lock area, they jus seem to have so much give in them.

Wondering if its just how they are , or if its just when they have had a dent and lost strength

yeah i used dynamat in the doors and quarters and that give them a lot more rigidity definatley the way forward for stronger doors :niceone:

flash band tape is very diffrent to flashings.. flashings are simple a detail designed to weather tight roofing elements, traditional and commonly constructed using lead however preformed grp, and alu flashing are also becoming the norm now days as obviously lead is expensive and a magnet to pikeys :)

lead is still miles better than anything else that they have tried to make to replace it. step flashing is easily the nicest flashing imo. Back to the doors:D

depends though, alu flashings cost pennies and can be fitted by any old roofing contractor/ diyer.. Lead is pikey magnet, expensive, heavy, and traditionally a plumber builds lead details>welts etc..

I work in the roofing trade, and the amount of roofing contractors who are gutted when we tell them we dont do premade grp/alu flashings for sideabutment's etc is amazing..

anyways a little off topic :P

plumbers dont do lead no more thats all down to the roofers. Im also a roofer by trade, nothing lasts like lead or has the dressing properties of it either. you wont see a plumber changing a valley or box gutter:laugh: :nohijack::D
