engine conversion ????

This is my first engine conversion i am plannin to do i have took the old engine out and had all the engine bay welded and sprayed and all new wishbones and subframe but now i am stuck on wich engine to choose from ??

i was just wondering what engine u would choose ?
and wich is the best for gettin the most power out of ?? ;)

f7p turbo(clio 16V) is a tried and tested conversion.there is a lot of info to be had on this subject have a good search of the boards:)

Think I'd be tempted by the 172 although I haven't researched whether that conversion is any good.

Yeah use all the 5 gtt mounts all you need to do is modify the front engine bracket, and you can then fit F7p, f7r, f4r, b18ft

ok sounds good how are the f7p engines to wire up as i have no wires what so ever in my car at the moment :crap:

If your car is stripped out inc dash, I hear you can fit the whole Clio loom to the GTT, I think it all fits, just the hazzard lights need sorting.

I'm in the middle of wiring the F7P into my car at the mo, certainly not a novice job, it's literaly given me a headache tonight, had 3 looms out on the landing, buzzing back wires, working out what does what, what goes where, writing it all down, comparing it with the translated instructions in the F7P section. My aim is making up a loom that just plugs into the pass footwell from the engine bay OE style at the mo.
If you go F7P turbo you need to either get the standard ecu sorted to run any boost or go aftermarket, if you want to run over 8 psi boost you also need to lower the CR...

I think the easiest to do is the Volvo TBH.

yeh me car is completely stripped out just a bare shell :)

i think im gona stick with the f7p turbo but will just have to get it towed to a specilist to do the loom :coffee:

wot sort of power can u get for this engine ?
iv got a t28 turbo that will be goin on it so wanna give it a good boost :cooter:
