New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Does anyone have a drawing of a caliper extender bracket suitable for 285mm discs, or even some brackets they might want to flog?

Yeah regarding those big brake conversion kits... I came across a second-hand kit... was wondering if it's any good:

Does it really improve braking a lot? I mean... you still have the same standard calipers with this kit...

I had them on mine for a short while until I needed to use them quite sharply and they just werent the same after that! Someone pulled out on me and I had to slam on otherwise end of GTT. I took them off shortly afterwards due to them making all sorts of noises and generally not feeling good under foot! each to their own though :)

I have that kit can't say it's any better than standard discs with Ds2500 pads, but it does look better with the 15" wheels:)

And what about that kit in combination with Clio 172 calipers? Or aren't they inter-exchangable with R5 calipers?

Thanks ;) yes I have a set, discs, calipers, green stuff pads. Even some front hubs to go with them.

Only problem I find having the conversion is you can have any smaller than 13" wheels and only certain 15" alloys fit, stuck for choice :( but braking wise a big improvement from standard setup, however, as the braking system on the 5 is old and has done many of miles in most cars its not as effective as it used to be.

Never mind... I just checked the website of a car parts dealer here in Holland... and apparently the front brake calipers for all Clio I & II models AND the R5 are exactly the same!
