well i think 2 are piper 270s and the other might be but its faint but these are the numbers

29-270 - F021 (i think) - 6

15 - 270 (but looks like a 3) - F021 -4

56 - 2 (cant see other numbers but could be 7 after it) - F2 (cant read any other numbers) - 342

thxs

if there are no end marks i would say there o.e , most suppliers stamp something on the end of them, piper =bp with 285 etc , but you prob already knew that:laugh:

measure the lobe lift with a vernier, I've not come across a modified cam with standard lobe lift.

can anyone help me identify a cam.?

ive just found it sealed in a box in the garage, it looks new.

the numbers 709-110 are stamped on the end of the cam.

i held it up against a std cam and it clearly looks different, the lobes look steeper.

you're wrong

The K-Tec 260 is more like a N/A Gordini cam, Mart banged on got years about the Gordini cam being the mother lode..

709 is the lobe profile, 110 is the LCA.

thanks andy, so what exactly is this cam if you know what i mean? what exactly is it good for rpm wise etc? and how would it compare to a 285 cam?

infact im pretty sure this was a cam i sent you to do your measuring for the cam wizard.!

http://www.rtoc.org/cam/?cam=Piper+285&lsa=&cam2=K-Tec+260&lsa2=&rocker=1.5&advance=0&vc=0.2

as you can see, it's duration is much like an 'ultimate' 285, but doesn't have the lift.
