A awasher should be between the engine and this plate.
On the other sside of the plate you will put the filter which has a washer in it.

As Jimmy says there should be a big rubber O'ring / washer that goes against the sandwich plate to the block it will be the same size as the oil filter one, and you will also need 1 for when you place the oil filter against the sandwich plate which as already said by Jimmy is on the oil filter already:D

Think ive found it, but the bolt that clamps it to the block just rattles around in the hole. Does this matter? seems fine when tightend up.

Right back again, been looking at my oil sandwich plate and i didnt mention that im changing the standard one to a mocal one. My problem is that the bit that goes throught the sandwich plate and bolts to the block just rattles in the hole, so do i need a different one from mocal to fill the hole? also a bigger rubber seal for it? hope that all makes sence. thanks.

Did you also get the threaded adaptor for the block as the new one you would have got fits so that the outer smooth part goes through mocal sandwich plate first with the threaded bit sticking out so that the oil filter can screw onto it.
