View Full Version : Smoking! valve stem seals or piston rings??

Symptons are LOADS of smoke when started from cold the smoke is hazy blue and smells of oil. as soon as car gets upto temp the smoke stops.
no smoke when driving at all on or off boost only when cold for the first 10mins.

sounds like semi rebuild time...
you burning lots of oil then?....expect the plugs are fouled up to?

no its not burning much oil at all concedering, more than normal of corse but not a major amount.
plugs were reasonably clean nothing unusal really.

setm seals could be poor. but clearing after 10 mins points to rings best get your self a comp testers and do your self a wet test:)

cut the price of the car alot and I might buy it as it is;) I need some of my youth back due to growing up to quick :devil:

well i was putting another engine in this week so would be sorted for a sell i wasnt planning on bumping anyone.
make an offer as it is i have seen something i like ;)
