I thought i would bring the car out from under its covers today and it seems to have developed a strange issue with the indicators:scratch:

basically if i put the hazards on, all the lights work and flash as they should:agree:

with the hazards off, if i put either left/right indicator on the lights flash very fast... now i thought this happens when a bulbs blown? but all my bulbs are working!

i haven't driven the car since err.. i haven't driven the car.!

any ideas?

All your bulbs are working with the hazards on?
All your bulbs are working with just your indicators on?
Without a wiring diagram i cant say if there seperate circuits, not sure if they use the same relay.
Possible bad earths or side repeater out.

I know what it is Raj. It's a pin-hole in the compressor housing. :D

yes i have, my sidelights are led as too are my front indicators.

the thing is all was working fine before i locked the 5 up before i went away for 2months.

im thinking it must be a contact issue?

also where if any:confused: are all relays that are related to the lights in general..?

you may have been lucky before you stt her up for rest. Normally you will need resistors with led's

It's defo the LEDs they don't load up the flasher relay and alter the flashing speed.

come again?:ashamed:

are you saying if i change the led's back to std bulbs it should then sort the problem?

only had 1 spare bulb to hand today, swapped the led back to the oe bulb and its flashing normal now:agree:

so why is it that led indicators are a no go? my sidelights are led with no issues.

also, what is the resistor thats fixed to drivers side wing behind the firewall.?

you need a resistor to increase the voltage draw from the LEDs

If the standard bulbs are, say, 5W the current drawn should be 5 / 12 = 420mA. To replicate this one would have a resistance of 12 / .42 = 28ohm. Nearest size is 30 or 33ohm (either should do) and should be in a 5W, or higher power
