you can re-use this gasket 2/3 times but your guaranteed to crack a liner before the gasket gives way:crap:

Just looking at gasket - are these any good then or not? Am I just better getting a group a spec one?

Don't mind forking out the extra if it's worth it and won't go.

I think of a head gasket as fuse, if the gasket doesn't fail what else will, eg pistons, liners.
Wouldn't trust cgb aka bob either!

Bobs not all that bad, hes just a businessman making money charging whatever people are prepared to pay for things.

I might have been a bit harsh there, just had a couple of little issues in the past.
But cbg have helped a lot of people keep their 5's on the road.

bob`s been great to me, just as has mike has been. i would always go to mike at gt turbo spares first tho as his running it as a business but its also his hobby so he wont charge stuipid prices and will help you out:):agree:

but all the same everything iv brought from bob has turned up in 2 days and has been spot on.

Decsions, decisions..... So what's the advantage over a standard group a 1.9 gasket then?

Cheers.

If your pushing the tune to it's limit and you have forged pistons and steel liners then yes they are probably worth it.

If your pistons and liners are standard then your better of using the blue updated gasket as if you push the level of your tune to much you will most likely do the gasket first. (not always the case admitedly) With the copper gaskets fitted your liners will probably give up before the gasket does.

And I know what I would rather change.

So for glen yes probably save him a a few quid as the head is probably off a few times a month and if you can reuse them then it's a winner.

For "the rest of us mere mortals" it's very much over kill.;) You would be better off putting the difference in price towards a rolling road session to check your fueling is good so you don't get near gasket blowing boost.
