Hi there, was pushing/pulling my 5 on my driveway and noticed theres about 2cm of play in and out on the steering wheel.

Safe? i think not.

What likely to be the problem and how can i resolve said issue.

Ps hi everyone, the jedi has returned from the dagobah system. :innocent::guitarhero:

Alright mate, after convo on the phone i'll pop up and check/do all the stuff for you. As you using it know will come up very soon.

Poss steering column but could be something simple.

I had same problem after rebuild it was the joint just under the dash the bolt on the joint wasn't tight and would slide a couple of cm just tightened it up and that did the job

I'm sure you need to replace the two bushes in column
I did this about ten Years ago if memory serves me right

it could also be the u-joint if the rubbers are worn mate.

where was this big bolt, because I also have this problem although my movement is mm's.

Bottom of steering colomn. like in the engine bay, drivers side closes point to where ya feet would be i guess.
