As Mallory is booked for early June (which is when we would normally do POD) we have had to push the Pod day back slightly.

We can now confirm that RTOC will have exclusive hire of Santa Pod Raceway on Friday the 1st of July 2011. We have also booked the campsite for the Friday night as per usual.

We will update this thread with prices as soon as we recieved the confirmation invoice from Santa Pod. They may go up slightly from last year as we have seen an increase in VAT of 5% since the last booking was made.

We have chosen July the first due to it being on the same weekend as the Retro show, althought thats on the Sunday many of the cars will arrive on Sat for the RWYB please see events calender (http://www.santapod.co.uk/calendar.php).

Regards
The Committee.

dont think its really gonna help with attendence figures putting mallory and pod so close together as more and more are starting to feel the pinch

Also may see a split in ticket sales (or maybe not)... will be interesting to see, I would like to do both, but Pod would be my preference if it came to it.

Thanks for sorting both out though :agree:

At least there seperate months though, and therefore seperate pay days. I cant really foresee it being that much of a problem personally.

Your never going to please everyone marrow. Like has been said they are in different pay dates so if people can't afford a £50.00 - £60.00 ticket then you probably shouldn't own a 20+ year old Reno!

i know you will never please everyone and it does not really bother me when the dates are and cost etc that much as i will be going to both all being well. I just think it will have a negative effect on numbers as some will say one or the other and the point of many discussions was how to get more members to turn up to events. Also its not just 50 or 60 quid is it? camping food fuel beer etc. just out of interest are you going to be at both events?:cooter:

Tickets will go on sale from Feb I expect so plenty of time to save if things are tight .Tickets for both will be a bit cheaper for the first few months anyway so makes sense to buy early :coffee:

You Jest but Wav is getting married on National day, trying to come up with a work around to do both!! Not going to miss another national day. Missing 1 in 9 was bad enough!

Still means i've been to 8 though, how about you? :cooter:

I have only ever missed 1 big event like this either POD or mallory/bruntingthorpe since I joined back in 2005. Luckily it was last years at Mallory and it weren't the nicest of weather so had a lucky escape :)

Got the day booked orf - we'll be there.

This will be my first one of these, although I have done a few Nat day's at the pod.

How many national day's have there been? I was surprised this morning to see I have had my one and only 5 for 9 years come April and I joined the RTOC the very same month. I'm sure I've never missed one yet.

Happy days.
