Right I'm in the market for a brand new o/e radiator, wheres the best place to grab one?

I know theres loads of myths etc around copper cored and alloy rads being better etc but how much better if at all?

Can you get a copper cored one for o/e valver/williams fitment and if so is it worth the cash?

alloy is out as its going to be bespoke i guess and silly money?unless anyone knows anyone who knocks them up for sensible cash?

any advice/experience much appreciated

cheers

Ben

as far as a 5 is concerned i always raved about the copper rads buuuuuuut....
now realise from experience there not all that, they rust out at the bottom
and the top rad hose pipe works loose an results in a nice leak.

the oe valeo radiators are by far superior an longer lasting.
:agree:

In a 5 I'd get a diesel rad, had 1 on mine for 3 years now and the only time it got hot is when a coolant pipe burst at 70mp officer but didn't notice for a couple of minutes but even then it still didn't go over the third line :D

As for a clio is the mk1 megane rad worth looking at?

I have got one of them double capacity versions and to be honest its only slightly better than a normal capacity alloy one i had .... still not really happy with the temps i had in summer on 22psi manifold boost ..... maybe its the roller bearing turbo ... not sure ... i think i will be fitting a turbo cooler to see if that makes any difference .. anyone tried one ?
