is there an easier way or a upgrade of this? since putting my 285 cam in the nut on the aduster is right at the top is this right? its hard to tighten the nut with out adjusting the clearence setting. any advice please!

Mike 16v phase1? New and used probably....
Measure yours first.... Make sure the ones you get aren't bent, run them over a work top or sheet of glass.

As an aside, we (at codered motorsport) will use ford ones on the next engine jobs, need a little relief in the pushrod holes.

thanks for your help and advise mate, there set up now but i have some spare rods will measure them n lookin to it. cheers.

put the nut under the tappet, instead of keeping it ontop. - tighten it up under the tappet....

Sounds like your cam was ground on a old worn cam thats why the pushrods sit so low.

As sparkie says thats a quick easy way to fix it, i have seen some pushrods that are slightly longer but think its just pot louck where they come from think there not from any specific age engine

gordini push rods are longer i think but not 100 percent on that:)

two different lengths depending on inlet or exhaust with the gordini ones. but as they are pretty fecking rare now you'd have a job in getting some.
