Material used to join Roof to frame?

Just been poking about my 5, charging the battery etc and opened the boot and looking at the left hand side hinge to the right hand side of it the join where the roof meets the boot doorway there is a weld, it appears to be slightly soft.. what is this material? like a putty?

id imagine it may not be a weld that your looking at... the welds probably under it and thats seam sealant.. just taking a guess but thats most likely

does look like seam sealent, easy to repair/replace?

can you see rust in there?....maybe dig it out stick some paint on it (por 15.:D)
an put some sealer over it...it goes a under a fair way an you can get rust under there,worth a prod...

Not a spot of rust its jus that the sealant is a bit soft. will be going to the body shop in march/april next year when its warmer so will get them to have a sort of it :)

know the stuff you mean,one of my other 5's had a red color sealant in there,really soft,long as theres no rot an you seal it up no problem.
