Merry Christmas all.

Anyone bothered fitting fully braided brake lines instead of copper and would it be worth the bother? I've got to replace a few sections of copper pipe to braided to my Hyd handbrake so i can invert it when bleeding. Given i already have the aeroquip ends i was going to run the full lot in braided if it offered any improvement in pedal feel? I cant see it making any difference myself :)

All our GT1 cars were fully braided at quaife, I intend to do the same to the R5 and clios, (its so much easier to deal with than copper), when I get time and stop falling asleep!!!!

Hard pipe is always better than braided hose imo, only keep the flexible joints where necessary;)

dont really think it makes any difference,a friend of mine ran his with full braided only because he wanted to run it inside the car and it made it easier to route it etc...

i like the idea of brake and fuel lines in the car tho out of the way and easier to work on.....well maybe only a little easier....

I have used both and copper is easy to work, mount and main reason cheap. And is usually thinner for same int diameter.

Braided looks nicer ;-)

The braided hose must have some degree of expansion which would mean a small decrease in pedal feel and performance against copper?

Personally dont like the idea of any fuel items inside the car. I think copper pipes are pretty easy to work with and look nice when done right. not sure on pedal feel, pedal wise i think it could only be equal or worse?

With the thunder saloon escort that went on to be a 4wd gt car, water pipes for the water cooled brakes, fuel and braided brake lines were all inside the car, inside a boxed channel.
This car had no servo assistance on all braided lines........just shy of 190mph at thruxton.
I reckon an R5 will be just fine, but it's all down to personal choice really.

thanks peeps, going to leave the copper in place and just use the flexis for the hyd handbrake section. Save cash etc ;)

Oh and does anyone have a spare drivers side hub????

Just to add on the fuel items inside the car, i kno its not quite to do with the thread. people should bear in mind that on track you have marshals with fire extinguishers and should have a slightly atleast flame retardent suit if being sensible, whereas on the road you have???? your nice new christmas wooley jumper and perhaps a passer by with a bottle of water??
