Im sure its been discussed before but id thought i see what peoples opinions on the best sounding car / engine ever were :)

My two favourites are the Audi quattro s1

The Quattro s1 5 pot has got to be one of, if not the best sounding engine ever. Awesome car.

lovin the compressor stall. any ideas on what these boost pressures these insane 80's cars use to run..??

Mine has to be the beefed up Quattro lump from the S1 they used in the production class Audi 90 IMSA...

Group B Audi is my personal favouite, it's also my favourite rally car in general. :cool:

6R4's,Stratos,Porker,Escy's....and many more...even an Aston Martin....OOOOOF

some early F1's had the guts to run 80psi in qualifying.....:eek::eek::eek:

and some 6R4's had been known to peak at 50psi....LOL......in a Rover....

6R4 didn't have a turbo.

A few did get converted.

XJ220 would be one example of a turboed 6R4 engine

yes it was a V6 turbo so it must have been converted along the way.....twas very awesome ....


that was one of a few tranny that got souped up........never seen that one but have seen a few running cossies and old faithfuls V8's..

the best noise from an engine in a car ive ever heard goes to the chap that dropped a merline spitfire engine into a mock up rolles royce

R/R didnt like it and tryed to sue, but as he used all R/R parts to creat the car he got away with it . as far as i know only one was ever built
