I think there were only 3 made. Renault took one to the R5 Celebration event at Thruxton in 2004, i've got some pics somewhere. There was another one for sale
last year on www.carclassic.com I can't remember how much it was up for though, £85k odd seems to ring a bell.

they made from memory a few, but i think Bill might be right! i know renault have one, so that means they have 2! LOL

they are actually racing in the "super production" race series

based on the Turbo 2 shell, they where raced by Ragnotti and Comas

but if you can find a pic of the front, you will find it has a Gtturbo front end!!!

saw one a few years ago at goodwood, just a bit of metal, 4 slicks and a HUGE turbo! LOL :agree:

Seem to remember a nice pic of one of these floating about recently. The size of the rims stands out. Stunning looking/sounding car. Great vid

a few years back I was wondering if I could get that front end for my car, the replica stuff is pre-facelift

its similar to a ph1 gtt , but not quite is it? its all integral with the front bumper....

Trevhib

yeah, you can see that Mark. It's all moulded together as one but you can see the design of the ph1 grille perfectly.

The bumper though is a ph1 with an extra valance moulded on the lower lip. Lol.

so is it a case of renault copying that car to produce the ph1 gtt, hence the vents on the ph1 gtt rear arches in homage to the turbo2?

Paul B- try and find me 2 x 60 01 011 170 if you please ;)

why renault went from the renault 5 turbo shape to the gt turbo shape throws me.

the turbo 1/2 is soooooo much better looking/sounding and they seem to be built alot better too. makes me think the gtt was the cheap n cheerful plastic car.

ive always wondered, what if group b hadnt been banned???what would renault have done to the t2 to keep up with the competion as it was a bit out classed by the 4wd lot(apart from the tarmac stages) maybe stuck 4wd on it who knows???

Yeah, maybe so mate. Or perhaps the designs were already on the table for the Ph1 GTT and the front end was trialled on the super prod.

is it that the T 1/2's were built as homologation cars? ie, to enter a vehicle into group b rallying, you have to manufacture a certain number for the road first? I dont know when group b was scrapped but without it, no need to build the T 1/2's. im sure im totally wrong

As per the first post but if you can persevere watch this at 4.55secs the winner does a moving 360 as he crosses the line.. nice bit of car control !!

Let me guess, Mr Ragnotti? It's his signature move that he loves to do at every opportunity
