the oe spoiler had the speed type washers which as we know fitted to those pins in the gtt tailgate but didnt it have double sided spongy tape as factory to?,if so do they come as a kit with those flat washers?,not that i need them but just for information for folk who may wish to do so.

i have seen lots of number plates at the side of the road lately..all with tape on the back.
if it were me id use some sikaflex or stixall, you can get it in black,an the stixall is available in clear to,just an idea, you dont ideally wna loose your spoiler!!!

Decent double sided tape will hold the spoiler on ok, i used it on my old white gtt as i had a campus boot fitted. Use a hairdryer to warm the tape up, makes it go super sticky ;)

Due to the back of the spoiler not being flat (unless you filler it etc), you might have problems not getting the tape to contact all the way across on both sides.

I used a double sided sticky tape that had a thin wall of white foam (i.e. 1mm) between the sticky layers. This held the spoiler on for 3-4 years no trouble before I sold the car. AFAIK it's still in place.

Make sure you clean and dry both surfaces fully before attempting to get it to stick.
