View Full Version : T25 gasket
Hi all i have recently bought a t25 tomcat and had AdamL rebuild it i also bought a big jim downpipe for it gone out to fit them today and noticed the metal gasket i bought from cgb (Turbo to elbow) overhangs inside the turbo and downpipe am i right in thinking this is not good? Anyone else had this problem? Thanks :D
Dont fit the gasket, if both faces are flat it wont blow. There wasnt a gasket fitted when new :)

Sweet i can go and carry on with fitting it then :D Cheers mate
Just tried fitting without gasket was nearly finished when i dropped my light....I happened to notice light shining all the way through the turbo/downpipe join when fully tightened:cry: So back to the gasket hunt does anyone know what car the t25 tomcat comes from? also it it possible to have the turbo faced?

Tomcat is of a rover 2.0 turbo matey o your looking at the 220, 620, 820 coupe will all use the same T25
Thanks m8.Do you think seeing daylight through the gap is a problem? Seems a bit much to me am really hoping the gasket will fix it as bit worried ive wasted loads of dollar :(

Any gas leakage from that joint is not good. If the mating faces are gash, then 2 gaskets can sometimes sort it.
I bet the downpipe flange is warped, my big jim one was miles out. Turbo will probably be fine imo get a straight edge on both and see?
I filed the flange flat on my downpipe, or if your feeling posh get it faced.
Thanks i may have to try that .Not cheap though about £12 each already got 1 thats no good :( Think i have found a gasket on ebay which seems slightly bigger near the holes its for a 200sx? Cant find anything for rover.
