As per the title, my window winder mech plastic tube has sheared! The push/pull cable is intact but as it reacts against the plastic sheath tube, when I try to wind the window down, the cable comes out of the end.
I'm going to try a repair utilising some larger diameter plastic tube as a brace and adhering it to the 2 halves of the broken sheath tube. Like a repair sleeve.
However, if the above repair fails or it makes the mech to rigid to get back into the door, I'm going to need to find a replacement. My manual mechs came from a Campus. Can anyone tell me if this mech was employed on any other vehicle?
The other option of course, is to ditch the glass altogether and grab some polycarbonate!!
