just found these on the bay, just wondered if anybody uses these as not badly priced, but a bit concerned how well these studs would hold in place if used for hard track use:scratch:

I can see them unscrewing from the hub.

I bought ford studs and hub nuts. They have a splined section to hold the stud secure in the hub.
They require you to drill the original holes out and fit the studs from behind which may mean removing the hub from the wheel bearing.
More work initially but I'd trust the stud to stay put.

cheers lewis,:) i thought the studs unscrewing might be a issue,
wonder if they could be welded in place from behind the stub axle, prob warp with the heat ,oh well just a thought:crap:

rally designs by any chance for the ford stud kit:)

Loctite them in. Once You have the nuts on tight they shouldnt come loose no more than what the normal bolts would. The tapered/slined variety would be more suited to alloy spacers/faceplates.

I use them on the front with no trouble at all. Why would they come loose any easier than a bolt ? You thread-lock them into the hubs. Makes wheel swaps loads easier.

GTA has one stud screwed in the hub as std ,other 3 are bolts.
No more likely to come undone but if you're concerned then do this as it does make life a lot easier :agree:

spose using one on each wheel would be ok for fitting but theres no safety standard on these as far as i can see,i know it sounds stupid but renault would have tested and have safety standards on their wheel nuts as its a life or death part, it only takes one gorm to put wheels on with these without spigot rings then greatly increases pressure on wheel nuts to snap or shear, but thats only my opinion.

thay look all most the same as the set i'm using.changing wheels is so easy.i've had absolutely no problems with them, thay have never come loose or anything like that i've even been around mallory with them. any wheel nut or bolt will come loose if you haven't tightened it properly
