turbo advice please

so ive just brought a second hand standard turbo for my gtt engine, got it back and it has slight in and out movement.. but the fan spins freely and makes no grinding noises... apparently the in and out movement means it crap.. is this true?

secondly is there a re-con kit i can buy to re-con it myself? if so where?

get it rebuilt as its on its way out.

Using a rebuild kit will be futile if you have turbine shaft or housing wear which is probably likely (just for reference that's how I understand it from what i've read...), the best bet is to get it recondition by a specialist.

A member on here Adam L works for Turbo developments if i'm not mistaken? (hopefully I didn't plug the wrong company there)

if you want it rebuilt you really need a specialist to do it as the shafts will need rebalancing. I dont know how much you paid for the turbo and are looking to spend but another option it to buy new and use that turbo as an exchange unit. Speak to adam L on here he will sort you out.
