No spark and no fuel? Are you using the phase 1 un-coded ecu?

Not sure where you got the engine from clio or renault 19 but from about J reg up to M/N is the uncoded ECUs I believe on both, if from the renault 19 I think it was just the later executive model which came with them, also had an airbag in the car. Somebody can correct me on that, not sure on the clio but would have thought it would be roughly the same sort of age.

Tried to get hold of the bloke i got the engine from but not heard back yet, I think its from an m reg. Is there anyway to tell by looking at the ecu if it is imobilised? What do you mean tdc in the right position, sorry to sound thick :ashamed: Do i need a different one for the clio as im using the one from the gtt?

No using the one from the gt should be fine as they are the same TDC sensor.

Has the AEI unit got power going to it when your cranking the engine?

One thing to check would be the earths... Duno how many times a bad earth has cause me problems like this.

Get the jump leads out and put them from the earth on the battery onto the block and gearbox etc.

If im correct phase 1 clio went up to a J/K reg and had the phase 1 uncoded ecu.

after that was phase 2 and they had coded ecus
