ok, so 4 months after i removed my engine for the respray i got round to refitting it today, but then realised i cant remember how the rear engine mount goes! :wasntme:

i kind of guessed it but thought i would check before i go ahead, this is what i thought (exuse the crap photos)

engine mount....

cover over the mount with the top of the rubber exposed??? or is that upside down?

does this look right?

feel like i right numpty with this one! took loads of photo's along the way but i knew there would be something i missed along the way!


one more thing, on the pic of the engine bracket below, the bottom holes i guess go into the engine block, but what goes in the top hole? another thing i missed:ashamed:

You got that alittle wrong there mate, the cover plate sits over way up so it covers the top part of the mount (swivel it round 180deg).

The mount will the go on and then you fit the stabiliser thing but over way roung to how you fitted it (mount it on the over face)

The mount bolts to the gearbox, there will be 2 holes just below the starter motor mounting face which the mount lines up with

so its,

1st, swivel plate 180 degrees,
2nd, mount stabliser facing up, with dogleg bit bending back (opposite to last pic)
3rd, engine mount on top of that, as it is on pics

am i right at that?


btw, looks like i had stabiliser the right way on 3rd pic:ashamed:

No it goes like this

1st, swivel plate as you say
2nd, engine mount goes on
3rd, stabliser bar goes on the same way as 3rd pic (opposite way to last pic)

oh right ok:agree:

didnt think the stabliser bar would slot into the engine mount but suppose it could of had something to do with me trying to fit it the wrong way round:laugh:
