I should have my car sold this week and can not decide what to buy, I'm looking to spend between 5-7.5k.

Cars i fancy are civic type r, Clio 197, seat Leon cupra r or my favourite a twingo sport :)

i only did 4500 miles last year, but next year i will be using the gt for about half that, so i just need something really as a winter car. I will only be putting about 2000 miles on each.

I have owned a 172 years ago and also a cooper s, both good cars but fancy something different.

I'm getting on a bit now 35, so I'm swaying toward the type r for that reason, plus good reliable cars and wont depreciate with them being 5 years old.

Or for a bit more cash, top of my budget i can get a nearly new twingo 133 sport, they look fantastic IMO only a 1.6 cheap insurance and good mpg also still with warranty.

What do you think chaps?

If you like the Twingo then go for the Twingo mate! :niceone:

Nice looking little cars & certainly in-keeping with the 5! Especially if you can get a matching coloured one?! :D

id get a twingo 133, at so long as you get a good deal, you wont lose much if you decide its not for you..

i think it would be great, i blag my old dears 182 all the time and if she decides to go for a smaller engine, cheaper tax etc i'll put forward the 133.......then blag that:D

the civic would b pretty bomb proof but some people find them slightly dull unless there driven hard
id go for the cupra r personally as they are quick, reliable, useable and theres loads of bits available if you did wana play withit a little!!:agree:

i drove a 225 cupra years ago and was quite impressed with the car, i think the problem with them is, they have really dated. I think 280bhp is dead easy to get out of them

Civic or Cupra for me. Why spend that sort of money on the others with cheap plastic and horrendous depreciation?

Type r is a sensible investment, rediculously well built.

I go with a manual BMW 330cd in black or met grey.

Edit: scratch that, they are £1500 out of your budget. Ok, 330d, lol.

Update, no further forward.

Twingos of the list, terrible to sell on the garages are knocking money of them for fun.

I have been looking at the newer civic type rs with the rage alloys. You can buy them for 10-12k, a bit silly selling my old car to go and buy another car of similar value, i sold it to buy something cheaper because the gt will be out most of the year and i only do 4000 miles a year, but have been getting carried away :)

Im hoping to go and look at another 04 plate silver type r this week, weather depending

We managed to get my partners car out the snow today, so hopefully the hunt will continue.
