Oil feed restrictor

Easy question for guys in the know.

I need to know if using a restrictor ie 1mm? (the bit on the turbo/oilf feed) rather just a normal adapter could cause the turbo to smoke?

Its just ive been told to change this to the normal adapter, by the turbo company (also in the middle of doing lots of other things to see if the car stops smoking on idle).

Using a restrictor in the oil feed would cause a lack in oil flow going to the turbo, prob not the best idea.
