is the fuel pump supposed to prime when the key is turned to the second click? Mine never has and it takes a good few turns of the engine to start.

Did you wire it up to the original fuel pump relay mate or is it wired up like the volvo?

I have taken the wire from the volvo loom straight to the fuel pump relay and removed the thick white wire (r5 loom) from the relay

mine used to now it will crank for about 5 seconds then the regulator squeaks then it fires il look into that as that could also be causing it as not letting the pressure build up.

I thought this was the cause of all my problems, whacked on a walbro 255 as andy recommended, it fires on the money every time, but it still primes the pump going back from crank to off.

I guess you have fitted a bigger pump?
