Hating the starlet tbh wanting to sell it and get a renault 5 again wish i never sold it now lol its got a knocking noise from the engine and i cant be arsed with it and i have been told my old 5 is going strong so getting the starlet fixed then selling it and getting a renault 5 again lol

right well heres the problem i am having when i rev to around 2 and 3k its a loud knocking noise also when i put my foot down it boosts to around 13.5psi and then judders been told that could be a igniton problem tho ie spark plugs load of crap tho as there new and the dizzy is fine.and the other nyt went to start it and the batt was flat which just pissed me off even more i like my work van more than i like this bloody car.when i had my 5 it started first time everytime maybe i have just bought a heap of crap :laugh:.i cant really think what else would be causing the knocking but it dont sound gd lol

also would just like to add that the jap forums are crap no one ever talks on them much u post a comment and they reply like 2weeks later :laugh:.think this car has just put me off jap cars even tho they are prob gd but think i prefer the renaults :D

They do have an overboost limter which does pretty much as u described. what do you mean by a knocking sound at 2krpm?

right see if i rev slowly to around 2k it start's making a knocking noise as if its coming from under the rocker cover dont know if the cams would do this tho but took it to my mates dads who is a part time mechanic and he says its sounds serious but he said he would need a second thought as on idle is sounds fine no noises what ever just when you rev slightly it starts knocking.wish i had a vid would be so much easyier to describe lol
