Smell of petrol...and carb woes

Hi folks ..me again.

I have a very strong smell of fuel coming from the engine bay ..kinda choking me lol. Been using it to get to work and home the last 7weeks.

What do i check for?

Also any time i corner hard left ..the fuel guage goes down ..im told thats just the sender.

I also only got 100miles to £20 worth of fuel ..my cars only running 10psi on a baby t2 :laugh:.

My carb woes are -
It wont idle when coming to junctions ..im told that could be a vaccum leak ..but ive checked all my hoses..they are all on tight and aint split.

Sometimes when driving it decides to missfire ..then when i put the foot down it clears up.

Also when it settles and idles ..the revs flunctuate.

If anyone has any idea's how to sort this all ..apart from a match and a can of petrol ..that would be awesome! :laugh:

get a carb gasket set sounds like it could be your accelerator pump gasket on its way out.

I just did a carb overhaul on this carb a few months ago lol. But ill get a new carb overhaul kit for it ..if it sorts it :)
