How to make hi pitch chatter?

Hello all

Ive had 7 r5 turbos in the past and none of them had the realy hi pithced chirp you hear on rally cars.

However my new r5 has insane hi pitched chirps :p Ive had t25s before and my current car has a t25 of some sort.

What causes this realy lowd hi picthed chirp is it all in the type of turbo?

The exhaust is just a run of the mill magnex rear exit 4" and the air filter is a green k&n.

Could it also be the intercooler as its running a fmi, im sure one of my 5s had a fm of some sort in the past?

i had a very loud chirp in my 5 for a while...lifted the bonnet an a seagull flew out...its a real problem round here...:wasntme:

Never heard that kind of noise from any of my r5s,what is the secret :scratch:

my old 5 sounded exactly like that was a jap dump valve i had fitted, cant remember the make but i still have it in work il take a look monday.

Im sure Im showing my inexperience here and going to get slated but is it not just an external waste-gate for the turbo? - Turbos are still a new thing to me :dearme:

Just to add I dont have any form of dumpvalve or external westegate.

on low boost i get a really long slow chatter, and on high boost i get a really quick high pitch chatter.

ive got a vnt turbo running 14-17psi, stainless filter and ali 45deg bend to turbo

I still have the T25 unit from my previous car sitting around somewhere. When you change gear with that fitted it sounds like you are punching a budgie. :(

It that a five cylinder motor? My old audi coupe had a five cylinder motor an even without a turbo it sounded the bollocks.

Thats the beast, handled amazing in the dry diffrent story in the wet though.

That sounds cool mate! What did you change to get it sounding higher?

It was like it when I bought it,ive had 7 or 8r5 turbos and none made a noise like that :)

All I can think is maybe turbo as its t25 or fmi :cool:
