mine has snapped off but been like this for a while everything still seems to work except starter playing up clicking, could this earth cause this to happen?does it need to be on?thanks

The only earth the engine has lives on the drivers side from the block (just below head next to timing cover) and connects to bulkhead. Looks like someone has added another strap if you have one near the airbox, you'll be ok without it if everything is still working.

ok thanks will check this out because i dont think mine has that other earth, so my car must not be earthed, or would it not work at all without an earth?why would someone fit another earth?

someone once said "you can never have too many earths"

starter clicking due to heat from downpipe if heatshield has been removed , mine has done it for years :)
