View Full Version : Selling up
As the title suggests I'm thinking of selling my beloved Betty, Im 22 and having only owned the car a year I think it may be time. I have just recently split with my girlfriend of 3 years and it is now more likely ill be going out more often giving very little time, attention and funds to my pride and joy, so it would only be fair to pass it over to somone who would appreciate it more.
I absolutley love this car and every time I drive it, it puts a smile on my face and if I was to sell it I'd definatley be back when hopefully a little older, wiser and abit more money to maintain such a great car, what should I do.

Dont mate......you will regret it......

:agree: Enough Said!
Why would you want to get rid of your love now you've found your freedom?!
Just keep the car ffs
you don't need to spend £80 every Saturday night, going out getting drunk and hoping you might bump into a megan fox look alike!
Just use plentyoffish.com it's free and spend all the money you save on mods for betty

Same here!, not married yet but expecting a little one next year :)
I know I would regret it, its a big decision equally as big as the decision of my relationship. On one hand I would then on the other I wouldnt.
I dont know what would be worse seeing someone else in my car or seeing somone else with my misses.

rule number 1, never compare the mrs to a car.. trust me :P
Id personally keep it , however you cant let things get stale, it costs a lot now days to store a car, and keeping it outdoors is just a bad idea.
Obviously im going to say keep it however your 22 (same age as me) and probably would like to try a few other cars, and then come back to the r5 :P
women come and go.......but a Renno 5 is for life :)

i got out of 5s for about 7 years always wanted to get back into them but price and misses stood in the way i regret doing it as the car was in mint condition. now im loving it again and still smile everythime i get in it. if you come back in a few years think about how much a 5 will cost!!! they wont be cheap.
my advice is keep it you will end up regretting it.
Don't do it.
I don't need to justify my comment. If you sell it. I'll call you tw*t every time i bump into you. :p
hi mate,
surely being single now means you can spend more time and money on the 5?

Sell up ???? R u stupid think of all the fun you wont have if you get rid and who will put that smile on your face if you sell up.
Dont make a big mistake :(
what would you replace the car with?
I'm assuming you would buy another car?
Yes I would have another car I was looking at an st fiesta before I had the 5 in white, I dont think I could get rid of my five. Yes I have givin it some thort but to loose the car aswell but who knows.
I dont know what would be worse seeing someone else in my car or seeing somone else with my misses.
Well you're going to find that out if you sell up unnecessarily!
