only a couple of months since the departure of the raider, and we have a new project already :agree:
i'm co owner with my colleague ross, and my other half alice. we bought it on sat, full history, been off the road since 2006! found out about it after a phonecall from the local renault dealer as someone asked them if they knew of anyone who'd be interested in it, so we bought it :)
all we have done it put 13's on it to transport it, and trailered it back... havn't even cleaned it as yet, but i'll put progress on here..
plan is to make it 100% OE... its pretty standard as it sits but room for improvement

todays progress, bought the other half of the car so its all mine now :agree:
tonites progress, new batt and new discs and pads for the front ready to go on when the wheels go for refurb,
had a mate over who details cars to see what could be saved, looks like drivers door, drivers 1/4 boot trim and rear bumper need paint, but thats it! he gave it a quick mop with mild cut and you can see the results below! he just did OSF wing and rear spoiler to see how it would come out

bugger.... thought i was having a productive day....
got cracking on the front arches, replaced brakes, undersealed and painted to make it look fresh
before
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/aab3f41f.jpg
during
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/3416a700.jpg
after
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/158665c2.jpg
then car on stands to do the back
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/5878ebf9.jpg
no before just after
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/28fc3d76.jpg
then thought, lets grind the rusty bits see if its surface, so attacked the door and it was just surface, then the rear 1/4, removed rear arch and found a scab, pressed it and.... oh ****e.... here is the aftermath of getting annoyed and cutting out all the rust!
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/5df89d23.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/e1e321b8.jpg
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/f28c7a93.jpg
annoying, as the front is mint
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/mark_wsmcuk/11703852.jpg
came to the conclusion that its had a rear 1/4 or repair in its life as its just that thats crap, and there was some tungy metal underneath, looks like a janky bodyshop has ruined my good afternoon...
will get a sill on order and hopefully be back to square one in a couple of evenings
Some great work going on there mate, Ive got task of undersealing the arches this weekend! Is the rear suspension set at factory ride hight?

Mate could you do me a favour and measure from top of the hub to the bottom of the wheel arch, just interested as to what the standard height is in comparison to mine, think distance on mine was 14 inch when i adjusted torsion bar last

no worries, i know its OE as there is a reciept from BB saying unable to lower due to torsion bars being seized :laugh::laugh:
wheels went off to wicked wheels on fri for shot blast and powder coat so should be back minty fresh, also OE airbox is being blasted and powder coated so it'll be brand new :p
just awaiting some welding on the OSR sill then i'll get it ready for painting

Usually attached to the back of the rad cowling drivers side under \ the alternator if memory serves me well.

Looking good mark, the rad fan relay should be attached to the plastic cowling in front of the alternator beside the rad, but it may have fallen down and just be hanging

Judging by the colour of the header tank (earlier photos) I would change the radiator. That fresh green coolant won't stay that way for long given that the rad made a brown stain on the header tank previously :-)
