Spax RSX rear shockets knocking [Archive]

I bought some second hand Spax RSX coilovers and shockers (bought from a member off here - in good condition), however the rear shockers seem to knock, and bang quite a bit.

It still handles well (despite spinning once on track at ND, but I think that was down to the weather mainly)

Is this normal? My 5 is stripped in the rear, so I guess the lack of sound deadening might make it sound worse.. It didn't happen on my original shockers though.

I think Russel Thorpe and James Sargent (?) had problems with theirs hitting the chassis rail or something like that, in James case it snapped.
Also make sure the bushes are ok and the chassis holes aren't rusted out......

I had problems with mine in which i ended up snapping flush a rear damper as Matt says. Russell has recently purchased a new set and found out that they sit to close to the body and needed to be spaced out a bit. Worth doing before you do what I have done :eek:
