Any of you chaps know?

RTOC is with Webfusion and we want to move.

So we're wondering who the other similar sites, with large membership database, use.

Thanks.

I can recommend a company who I have used several times ( also the 21toc.com ) use.

Its a UK based company , with UK hosts, with a UK based contact ( its all in the UK ! :wasntme:)

Chap you need to speak to is the owner , Tim.

Thanks for that Andy.

It looks like he intermediates between a customer and a hosting company and does the technical stuff for the customer.

We are looking to just go to another hosting company and preferably a big one. We've been with a couple of one man operations and it didn't go well.

Webfusion claim to be the biggest in the UK.

I looked at a Rackspace cloud server in the USA, but they may be too expensive.

Just now looking a 1and1.co.uk who get the best reviews and say they are the worlds number 1 web host.

I might ask that Tim Skipper what he can offer in the way of writing PHP pages and his fees as Scoff does not now have time but does want some specific work done.

He is essentially a reseller yes.

Top service - and I havent had any downtime in the 2 years I have run the 21toc.com on it.

havent had any downtimeThe same cannot be said for Webfusion!

However, they just found and fixed a fault with a node for our VPS and the site has not had a problem, that I'm aware of, since.

It's only three days though :scared:

That's a poor indictment of that company when three days uptime unusual!

Thats simply unacceptable.

I hope Tim can look after you.

Atm Ian my website is hosted by 1and1, and i cant fault the service, dont get me wrong my website is alot smaller than RTOC, but havent had any down time, and when I had to call them I got through to a person with 30seconds, and problems resolved within 2 mins :agree:

But I am in touch with a senior member of cliosport, i will find out about thier hosting. :)

unlimited space and bandwidthThanks for the link. I had a look. They offer only a shared service and we need a VPS with root access and IIS / server 2003 / MSSQL.
