fuel pump

when the pump gives up dose it still make a sound or not. as ivebeen looking at a mate five he bought for doing up but its stoped starting. all seams well and pump sounds as though its running but no fuel out of the pipe at the carb but a gurgling sound and no feel of pressure.

Had the same issue with one of my customers at the workshop, the end had fallen off the in tank element/sender unit, as it has the pick up pipe in it.......
Was a strange one to start with, as the car would only run with half a tank and jacked up at the rear when he came to me......
Took the sender out and refitted it.

thanks matt just as you said it. the fuel pick up had fell off in the tank. 10 mins and all was sorted.:)
