im want to wire up a digital water temp gauge and not sure what wires go where:scratch:
it has 4 wires on the back of the gauge red, yellow, blue and black. i did think that the red is the 12v input and the black is the earth and the other 2 go to  any help greatly appreciated :)
The others will be signal and back light .Blue I would guess for signal so to the sender and other to dash lights .

ok so the sender do you mean the switch on the water pump
The temperature sender wherever that is so usually on the pump .Did you get one with the gauge ?

no dint get any other bits for the water temp gauge just got wires out the back of the gauge
Try it on the existing sender then and see if it reads sensibly .
