i need to give the 5GT a service as its not had one by me. What parts do you reccomend genuine ? its done 77k pretty standard engine wise apart from carb work and its running 14psi. Which oil is best cheers Aaron

halfords engine oil/gearbox to,campus plugs,factors oil filter,pads,air filter,bougecord leads although aei lead is super expensive now,new alternator belt.....

I would get the parts from GSF or Euro car parts rather than Renault. I would change the filters (air, oil and fuel), plugs (NGK's seem to be most peoples choice, do a search). Also worth considering the rotor arm and dizzy cap plus the leads if there a bit old and crappy. May also be worth changing the coolant and bleeding the system. As for oil have a search of the boards. I always used to use 10w-40 fully synthetic however it seems that semi-synth is also considered ok these days. I picked up 5 litres of Mobil Super S 10W-40 semi-synth in Asda the other day for £15.

personally i always use genuine renault oil filters and i run mine on elf 15w40 td oil from renault also (this is what they used to use when servicing them).

genuine or fram filter (has the valve in these). Mobil super s 10/40 for oil. Owt else ron just get from the factors. Plugs are ngk b8evx.

Should set you back about £50:agree:
