Nice work on the fog light ducts. What's the thinking behind them? i.e. what are you trying to cool?
Cooling for the brakes mate like the old cup cars they had them but finding a set of them like

:agree:
Do they have/need anything on the back end of them to route the air round the back of the tyre to the brakes? Or are they as is? I always wondered how efficient they were.

I've heard of them causing under steer issues at high speed and blowing arch liners out as well, I guess it's down to how well they're angled that matters, as in, do they actually hit the disc/caliper and how much air they direct. Over cooling race pads is just as bad as over heating them.
Il soon find out if i do have any issues if so looks like a re design or just get rid of them..

Ok so got my custom shafts today... gtt length with clio splined ends.. all seem well apart from 1. They look skinny! And its worrying me slightly with power il be running and 2. Im
Now ****ed as cant fit the bearing for the passenger side gaiter that goes to the box... Got to give him a call tomorrow to sort it out.
Times like these spending money and getting no where piss me off and make me not wanna be arsed... stressful small problems! :crap:

Well poped to uphosltry place this morning to check my dash out... And im well pleased :D its looking good!
Welded the circlip in the box at work saves spending £50 on that thing in ebay.
also had a little mess about making a inlet mani for a member on here whilst i poped in, welded a gusset to the engine mount bracket too :)

Quick pic of a inlet im making for member on here.. Just got it all tacked up into place tonight, gonna finish it off tomorrow :)

Inlet manifold looks very tidy mate, nice work. Are there velocity stacks at the end of the runners? :agree:
I'd be interested in the repro GTX engine mount should that work out. Having difficulty tracking one down.
Cheers mate, and there just straight pipes had a game making it from tube to oval fit nice, iv made it similar to the one iv got that was JP's he had on his car..
And il see if it works out dont see why it shouldnt, but can make them easy now as go program on machine at work
Sounds great, and your fabrication skills are clearly top notch. When planning my own custom inlet, a concern was that the angle the inlet enters the head is about, say -15 degrees off centre. Depending on the length of the runners, this could make the plenum chamber interfere with the mounting of the alternator. I've not finalised my measurements, but it seems without introducing a positive exit angle, the runners are limited to about 50mm. I'll get some pics that will hopefully make this more clear.
Anyway, top work mate :)
Also, should probably add... been to the pub tonight. I'll read back over my previous post tomorrow, and if it makes no sense (likely)then I'll square it up tomorrow. Peace!
Haha no worries mate get what you mean, iv made the runners 75mm long and they run at 15 degrees ;) hard to tell on picnil get a better one today once its welded up..
Top work mate you have good welding tekkerz lol
Cheers josh i try my best :smokin:
Well went in today for few hours.. Welded it up just waiting on throttle body to come tomweld up other end and weld bits on for vacuums,

A word of warning fella, I had a gearbox where the circlip had even welded, my f7r running 280bhp shattered the circlip resulting in the diff popping out and mashing the plant and sun wheels .
I'd use a bolted in reinforcing plate over welding everytime from now on.
Haha wtf thats mad! I wanna be running more power than that too! Hmm dunno what to do now as stil got the box in my shed.. Rekon i can stil fit the ring over where iv welded it?

Nice one matey. Really nice effort on the dash and steering rack. Which clio is the rack from? Really tempted to do run pas on mine as the engine and box weigh's a tonne! Will the clio rack fit the gt subframe?
Cheers mate! :)
rack is off a diesel one but read somewhere that there all the same on the mk1s with P/S, just used the inner track rods and ends,
I dont see why you cant use gtt subframe bolting holes are the same i think for the rack, iv got a clio subframe on there though as bought it and it had been seam welded sonjust thought id put it on saves me welding my subframe
Haha wtf thats mad! I wanna be running more power than that too! Hmm dunno what to do now as stil got the box in my shed.. Rekon i can stil fit the ring over where iv welded it?
I should think you will be able to fella, I'll be honest mate, a jb3 or even a jc5 isn't going to last forever with 300 + ft lb pumping through it and I don't think the clutch will last long either.
I'll eventually being changing to a vag 02m 6 speed box
Yeah know what you mean iv got jc5 i was talking to robbie he said 400bhp his held out, think he said 340ish torque is when it went.. somewhere around that figure anyways.. i do wanna go vag its just the cash just wanna get it all in and running try make it last till maybe this time next year then do it
And been told my twin plate paddle should be ok for power i want too..
