any clio 172,golf gti T or similar reviews?

I recently sold my glanza & now looking for a new car.

part of me wants another renault 5 as there's nothing like them & imo are the best looking car around.
problem is i cant find what i want for sale at the mo,obviously patience will bring one but im impatient! :wasntme:

anyway i've been considering maybe getting a newer car & quite like the look of the clio 172 & also the mk4 golf gti turbo.

was wondering if you might want to share your views on the above cars if you have owned them?

A friend of mine has a black Mk4 Golf GTi T, its comfortable and quiet and fairly quick for what it is.

If it was my choice, i wouldnt bother with the Clio.

Golf gti turbo is one of the dullest cars I have ever owned, yes it's very comfortable inside the car, the build quality is fantastic, it's a good cruiser but the performance is just gay and the handling is just aweful! Also they weigh alot and mpg is terrible for the performance.

The only golf you should even consider is a gt tdi, a 150bhp can be chipped to give over 300ft/lb of torque and are fantastic on fuel.

But I would still have a Clio 172 cup over both the golfs, just awesome cars and would kill most tuned r5s round a track in standard trim

really , well i doubt the guys at the cliosport track day in llandow would say that..:laugh:, pah the clio i owned was not a patch on my cup, saying that it wasnt a cup...;), still, i know what id rather have..:)
