would burnt valves show under a compression test or is there a chance on still getting 140 across 4 pistons with burnt valves

I would say valves are ok if no pressure loss.

burnt valves will cause a loss in compretion psi . easy way to see if its the valves is do two compretion tests
1-dry compertion test take note of your readings
2- wet comp test . just add a few squirsts of oil down through the spark plug hole - if your readings go up its the rings . if the reading stay the same as the dry test its your valves
the above test is just a guide to find wots wrong the test dont always work :coffee::smokin:
