Got speaking to a lad on cliosport.net and told me about this site.
Its a bit to bitchy for me on there!!!!
Any way about my car.
Its a supercharged 172 cup, had it about a year and half now and love it.
It always seems to put a smile on my face:).
I will try and get a few pics up next week.
Looking forward to spending a bit of time on here.

I think the cliosport to rtoc swap must be something like getting on in life, realising that radio 1 is full of spotty kids playing the guitar badly and then thinking "I ought to try radio 2, I hear terry wogan does breakfast ?"

:D

tell us more about the supercharger conversion, I don't think anyone else here has one :) welcome to the club :)

Thanks every one, especially J8TRO (Jay) for telling me about this site.
My god dam lap top is playing up , so I'm on my phone.
When I get my camera back and sort my lap top out I will tell you the story of how it all began.
Even got a video of me popping my cheery at Santa Pod yesterday:ashamed:

Supercharged 17poo sounds interesting mate! Deffo get some pics up when you can?

I was at WSR Silverstone yesterday and their was a supercharged Clio 200 their which looked nice, I had a look under the bonnet & saw the charger tucked right at the front of the engine bay.

Glad to see you over here mate, as mentioned it seems to be a natural progression from CS to here.
Looks a nice tidy conversion, how you getting on with it? are you having any issues? did you have there GEN90 ECU fitted? PM me if you'd prefer.

Had my Turbo Trophy @ RStuning for a few tweeks yesterday but hit a couple of annoying issues which meant we had to cut the day short. Hoping to go back next week to get it all finished off :)

At the min she is only running 5 psi, and made 259.9 bhp at the fly/ 224.9 bhp at the hub.
As for the drive, its not like a turbo, it feels like its got a much bigger engine and it seems to really suit the car.

SP33DY
22-09-2010, 23:01
Good figures mate, but it's difficult to compare a turbo and supercharger boost pressure. It's more to do with the amount of air flow, obviously the turbo causes back pressure which means more turbo boost is needed for similar air flow to a supercharger

What do you think of the horror stories of the lower carnk pulley spinning due to the strain the rotrex puts on them?

Hows it goin Steve, sent you a pm a fair few months ago about the low boost turbo convertion. Been watching your car on cliosport.
No real issues with the kit.... well a few but now sorted, but i still think(know) the mapping could be improved.
Yep its the gen90, i was the first person they had fitted this kit too, and to use this ecu.
But now i know Rstuning and TDF can map the gen90 i will be going to see one of them very soon.
Loved the post with you and Ktec :agree:.
Saw RStunings tigra at Santa Pod last saturday, FOOK me that thing is evil...lol.

Paint that intercooler black as well as a black samco and I bet most people would think it was stock. :D

Welcome along budski, That is one nice clean conversion. I like the way this could lead, the 5 has a very limited life span now, and I can see this being my way forward.

In a good 10-15 years.

Very nice car, I also like BBC radio 2. I'm a bit further ahead than others on here, I can also take 5-10 minutes of radio 4 also (dependant on time of course, no Archers for me as yet)

Never antiques roadshow:smokin:

Yeah I remeber your PM's mate, I'll admit I've had a few from people talking about Turbos/superchargers but your one of the few who actually followed it up :)
Think you'd be doing a good thing getting it checked TBH as at least you'll know it's safe then.
I don't think Ktec appreciated that thread as much as some people but I couldn't understand why they didn't just put the hands up and admit they were wrong rather than dragging it out over 3 pages trying to say I was wrong

When I was at RStuning in June it was pissing down and there wasn't any milk for a brew so Specky was trying to get me to nip to the shops in his Tigra LOL I politely declined, it's far to brutal for those conditions LOL

What other plans have you got for yours?

Popie
22-09-2010, 23:36
The plans are fit some 15" alloys, sort out my top mounts, get some better coilovers, iv got Vmaxx on her at the min.....i know. Then get a diff fitted.
I dont want to get lost chassing power, i just want to improve the way it puts the power down and handles.

You might find it's your overly hard suspension causing the traction troubles, at Mallory despite it being soaking wet I was managing to get the power down, a little bit of wheel spin in second when cornering but apart from that it was awesome.

Mate I heard you'd had issues :(

Whats the plans now?

I know I posted up on CS what sort of warranty was offered with the kit? i.e. 12,000 miles/1 year? as I'd be straight back on the phone to them.

The car was booked in at Freds the day after it slipped. Got it towed to Freds, no compression all valves bent. The car want even moving, I was stationery at the lights when it went. Any way its gone back to ktec and they are fixing it. They have called all the cars back, and are fitting megane 225 bottom pulleys to them. Might get her back next week???

Got my car back yesterday.
Forgot how much fun it was, had to have a new engine in the end, and didnt pay a penny....ok £69 for a train ticket and £40 on fuel to get here back home.
Had the map played with too, seems to be faster:).
