View Full Version : where to weld in the AFR Sensor

just bought a AFR and trying to decide where about to drill and weld the screw in sensor bung thingee. how far into the exhaust have others done theirs?

Any advice much appreciated...

mines halfway down the downpipe at 12o'clock.

i have mine about 9" from the turbo elbow at about 11o'Clock. dont think it can be nearer than 6" from elbow and the wire needs to be pointing up so condensation ect... dosnt settle in the sensor. Where bouts in croydon are you?

Thanks for the info, I'm not far from the Mayday hospital. As soon as I get mine back in one piece we should see who else is in the area to meet up.

The best way of finding out is to crawl under your car with the bung in your hand that needs welding onto the exhaust and hold it onto the exhaust at a point that is suitable & then draw round it with a marker pen

SIMPLES! :D

I put mine near the end of the elbow that goes under the car near the gearstick mechanism so it's easy enough to change and you can take the downpipe off easy enough to get it welded!
