Ok as per title I have a turbo that is leaking oil into the downpipe. The turbo itself came with a running engine that had been stood for some time and there was no axial or radial play in the shaft.

Upon removing the turbo it seems none of the oil has been returning via the oil return but just leaked into the downpipe instead, is it possible the return oilways could be blocked due to being stood for so long?

As I know there is a labyrinth ring which have to block the oil to get into the exhaust.
And it can stick in. But I'm not a turbo expert.

Ah right so basically it's a case of take the thing apart and have a look.....

I'm not sure if anyone can point me in the right direction but I'm sure I recall a thread on here where someone was upgrading the standard T2 bush for a bearing or something like that. I remember the key point being it would only work if the turbo was in good order and not already knackered.
