Chaps,
anyone into electronics? I'm repairing my LCD monitor. 3 x blown caps rated at 820uF and 1 x 330 uF 25v at 105 deg c. I have in my stash 3 x 1000uF and 1 x 440uF as the closest. What issues will i have insatlling the larger uF capacitors on the circuit? Will it blow something else?

without knowing what they're doing, I couldn't be 100%, but I'd say they'd be OK. Electrolytics have a very wide tolerance, and you're probably inside that with your components. The main thing is that they are spec'd to the same or higher voltage.
No doubt Ian S will enlighten us on the different sound quality offered by alternative components :)

Thanks Andy, they are from the power module, ie the PCB that has 240v in. It then connects to the inverter i think.
Im no electronics expert so pissing in the wind!!

Yes they are 25V the same as the ones on.
i would order the correct 1s from either farnell or rs ,they are storing a charge or there for a delay person , i maybe wrong , scoff might also have an thought on this :)
It depends on what they're doing matt. If they're radom decoupling then as andy says you could wang anything in within reason (voltage being the critical bit). If it's part of something more fussy like the switchmode supply or backlight psu then you'll want the right bits. Prob is, what made them fail all at once ? They don't go for no reason, especially in 3's, something else has failed to cause that I think.
