top rad hose??

hi all,im thinking of putting a hard pipe on the top rad hose to stop it crushing up.was thinking about using just some upvc waste pipe from b&q,do you think this would be ok?also what size pipe would it need to be to fit nice and tight on the top rad hose once i cut a section out for this pipe:confused: cheers

The diameter you will need is 32mm. I would use some Ali pipe, as you may struggle to get the plastic pipe to seal when you tighten it up with a jubilee.

The top hose does collapse, there's nothing wrong with it.

As bill said dont worry about it, it wont collapse when the stat is open.
